
The Boston Globe recently reported that individuals filing unemployment claims are facing long lines at local walk-in centers and lengthy delays when calling the state’s toll-free hotline.
Even as the Labor and Workforce Development payroll has been expanding by an eye-popping 1,391 percent over the past two years, many of the rank and file employees who work on the front lines servicing the public have been let go, leaving a shortage of workers to assist people filing for unemployment assistance.
