Senator Ted Kennedy has officially endorsed Barack Obama’s candidacy.
Two generations of Kennedys‚Äîthe Democratic Party’s best known political family‚Äîendorsed Barack Obama for president on Monday, with Sen. Edward M. Kennedy calling him a “man with extraordinary gifts of leadership and character,” a worthy heir to his assassinated brother.
“I feel change in the air,” Kennedy said in remarks salted with scarcely veiled criticism of Obama’s chief rival for the nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, as well as her husband, the former president.
“I have marveled at his grit and grace,” he said of the man a full generation younger than he is.
Kennedy’s endorsement was ardently sought by all three of the remaining presidential contenders, and he delivered it at a pivotal time in the race. A liberal lion in his fifth decade in the Senate, the Massachusetts senator is in a position to help Obama court Hispanic voters as well as rank-and-file members of labor unions, two key elements of the Democratic Party.
He is expected to campaign actively for Obama in the days before a string of delegate-rich primaries and caucuses across 24 states on Feb. 5, beginning later this week in Arizona, New Mexico and California.
There is no word on whether or not Kennedy mistakenly endorsed Osama bin Laden for president.

Please, this is not the coronation of the emperor by the pope.
All of you Hillary haters should now understand how dangerous the situation is…Teddy Boy is shouting from the rooftops who the fairest liberal of them all is… I urge all unenrolleds to vote for Hillary and hope McCain wins on his own. A win for MITTSTER won’t mean much in his “home” state. Repeat after me: “I, an unenrolled voter in Mass.” do promise to vote for Hillary on Feb. 5th” This includes you, wavemaker and V, do the right, smart thing!
Mr. X;
You’re going to have to explain to all of us exactly why we need to vote for Hillary.
Actually V it makes sense. If the unerolled all flock to Hillary and then she gets the nomination I think she is FAR easier to beat in November then Obama. We’ve seen first hand how people can get swept up in the “hope change yes we can” drinking of the kool-aid. So he could win. Hillary is too polarizing and I think she’ll lose in November.
This may help Obama in Mass, good for him. But it’s a scarlet letter in many other areas, as large blocks of sane voters understand what a pathetic Senator Ted K is. A bad day for Obama in the big picture.
GOP footsoldier is half right, a D will win in November, “I’ll take 4 more years of Clinton any day over OBAMA!
LMAO… X is covering his Shillary bet, just as he blew the Ogonowski won’t get 40% prediction.
X has been blathering about Shillary next President and her Caddy Deval Attorney General since forever.
Kennedy just chose moonbat over (D)machine, no big deal since he is probably 60% moonbat and 40% (D)political machine.
Listen to X everyone vote Shillary cuz B. Hussien Obama in the fall scares me. It’s difficult to hit an empty suit slogan master, as opposed to hitting a shrill polarizing witch. Unless of course she cries again……lmao
OK everyone? Knightbrigade’s got the right attitude…VOTE for HILLARY!
Heh, for such an ‘outsider’, Obama sure has a lot of ‘insider’ support.
