Ogonowski To Hold Press Conference

Just in from the Ogonowski campaign:
Jim Ogonowski will hold a press conference Friday at his family farm in Dracut, Massachusetts to respond to an irresponsible and unfounded personal attack made by former Congressman and Tsongas Campaign supporter Chet Atkins. Atkins told the AP Thursday that Jim was “tarnishing the legacy of [Jim’s] late brother, John, with a stance against illegal immigration that borders on racist.”
Jim will be joined by the Ogonowski Family. On Thursday, Peg Ogonowski, who is the widow of Jim’s brother John, who was killed while piloting American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11, 2001, called Atkins’ remarks “a new low in politics.”
Jim will discuss his disappointment at the continued negative tone of the Tsongas Campaign, his position on immigration reform, his work on behalf of legal immigrants, his efforts to carry on his brother’s legacy of providing land and support to Cambodian farmers and their families, and the need for civil discourse and honest debate in the waning days of the campaign.
