VoteOnMarriage Puts Fight To Save Traditional Marriage On Hold For Now

by Matt Margolis, July 24th, 2007 at 05:09pm

A letter from Kris Mineau of VoteOnMarriage, via my inbox:

Dear Friends,

VoteOnMarriage.org has decided not to immediately pursue another petition drive for an amendment to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

Many of you poured your hearts and souls into this campaign. You collected signatures, volunteered in the office, collected postcards and lobbied your legislators. A great many of you wrote to encourage us to start over again immediately and try again.

But such a move would be very unlikely to succeed at this time. While we do not doubt that we could shatter our signature drive record, any petition beginning this fall would immediately be laid before a joint session of the legislature next spring. The legislature will not have changed; the same exact legislators would be voting on it. We believe it unlikely many would change back to our side with Governor Patrick, Speaker DiMasi, and Senate President Murray pulling the strings.

We at VoteOnMarriage want to be good stewards of our people’s time, money, and efforts. We know how much you have sacrificed and the hard work that has gone into this effort. But given the make-up of the current legislature, we believe a petition drive at this time is not a wise decision.

We will keep this movement alive by other means, and are working on plans to do just that. We will continue to mobilize our grassroots network and educate people on the importance of marriage between a man and a woman.

For those of you who are disappointed, don’t fret, Mineau assured us that they “are not going away!”

Well any day now you can expect Chris Mineau too slither out out town in the middle of the night like his predessor Ron Crews did.

The only question is underneath what rock will he return to and will he take his sidekick Evelynn Reilly with him?

The anti marriage equlity parade is now being lead by a central mass nut job named Franco Something.

Yay for Gays. You can’t beat us, were to strong. Next stop, the straightermanation camps.

    “Marriage equality” hahahahahaha….good stuff.

I, for one, will combat the queer agenda until the day Christ returns to straighten everything out!

With folks like crusader88, V and Alain standing with voteonmarriage I don’t think those who support basic civil rights for gays have much to worry about.

But, I do have some concern if the mental midgets who posted above are populating the gene pool. God helps us!

All this coming from a dead guy!

“Harold”, you embarass yourself and show the typical trait of the radical homo lobby….when you don’t agree with a point of view, you resort to name calling and insults. I’m not impressed by you at all. We all know your real agenda.

The terms “marriage equality” and “civil rights” for this issue are total bs and you know it. You’re just using this lie as a way to “normalize” homosexual behavior.

And your worry about the “gene pool” amuses me to no end. Where do you think the gene pool is coming from? You call those of us who see your misguided ways as the evil that they are “mental midgets”. Well Mr. Stassen, this may come as a shock to you (probably because you can’t think beyond your own twisted agenda)……h-mo’s won’t be continuing your sacred gene pool for you.

Pretty funny how V criticizes Harold for name calling in the same sentence he uses the word homo. V, nice job proving that Harold is right about you.

    Matt,
Cut the b.s. - Vote On Marriage is not fighting to “save traditional marriage”. They’re fighting to eliminate same-sex marriage. It’s obvious that you intentionally use phrases to mischaracterize the issue. Doing so doesn’t help your case - it weakens it.

I hardly think “homo” is as bad of an insult as “mental midgets”. Also, we are not trying to mischaracterize the issue, but I’ll elaborate, so that even Steve and Harold can understand it.

Essentially, marriage no longer exists in the western world, thanks to contraception, no-fault divorce, abortion, homosexual “marriage”, and every other behavior that encourages sexuality which will not result in a family, or which makes the family more dissoluble.

Homosexuality is a form of perversion caused by man’s sins (Romans 1). The only way a homosexual union can be called marriage is by redefining marriage. The proper definition of marriage, which Jesus Christ and His Church have established as the permanent, fruitful union of a man and a woman, can never be changed, especially not to accomodate immoral and unnatural desires.

Why have we allowed our state to become a joke. Seriously, 20 years ago people would have laughed at the thought of what our state is today. Its a disgrace how we have leaders who are only concerned about trendy social issues while never focusing on the fact that middle class is getting smaller and poorer. So lets all praise the crazies for making our state a haven for illegal aliens, crackheads, gangs and perverts. Go back to NY and Cali wierdos, we don’t like the state you took form us.
