I’ve been thinking for some time that looking at the overwhelmingly bad bunch of Democrats running for president, it’s clear that the only qualifications you need to run for the party’s nomination is to oppose the war in Iraq. This apparently is the driving force behind Ed O’Reilly’s primary challenge against John Kerry for his Senate seat.
That being said, I’d be very tempted to vote for him in the Democrat primary if I thought he had a chance to defeat Kerry. It would certainly make the seat more competitive for the Republican Party.
UPDATE: Can O’Reilly defeat Kerry? I offer my analysis here.

Are there any Republican running for the seat?
I’ve heard rumblings about Andrew Card and Mike Sullivan.
While I would love Andy, I fear his close ties to the current Administration will sink him.
However, I would be very pleased either way.
