A bigoted customer at a New Hampshire restaurant refused to shake the hand of Governor Mitt Romney on Tuesday because Romney is a Mormon.
“I’m one person who will not vote for a Mormon,” Al Michaud of Dover shouted at Romney when the former Massachusetts governor approached him inside Harvey’s Bakery. Romney was kicking off the second of two day’s worth of campaign visits in the lead primary state.
Romney kept smiling as he asked, “Can I shake your hand anyway?”
Michaud replied, “No.”
Michaud later told reporters he was not “a right-winger,” alluding to some evangelical Christians who have compared Romney’s faith to a cult. Instead, Michaud stated he was “a liberal.”
Al Michaud said he was going to vote for Senator Clinton–sounds about right. He does seem to fit well in the mold of voters who would support her; and to think those are the same people who preach tolerance and respect of those different from yourself. Hogwash.

Can you believe it? Some bigots would not vote for any one who is a member of the Church of Satan, or is a radical right wing Muslim, or a fire and brimestone Christian! I even know bigots who would rather fart in court than shake hands with a Mormon or a Scientologist.
Dover’s a little far south for such backwater hickiness.
I don’t think its fair to group a bigot like this with Clinton supporters.
In no way would any candidate want someone like him associated with them.
(and believe me, I’ld go without a president before I voted for Clinton).
I do like that you’ve posted his name.. people like him need to be identified and shamed.
This sort of behavior will play to Mitt’s advantage.
