Senator Jarrett Barrios, the very same senator who tried to ban fluffernutters last year, is now leaving the State Senate to take a job with Blue Cross Blue Shield:
Senator Jarrett Barrios, a Cambridge Democrat who has been an outspoken advocate for minorities and gay marriage, confirmed today that he will leave office in early July to become the president of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation.
He won’t be missed, and now I have a hankering for a fluffernutter sandwich.
UPDATE: Please note that the Barrios Fluff Advisory Level has now been reduced to Green.

Why doesn’t he just leave Mass all together. He and the rest of his trustfund moonbats in Cambridge are whats wrong with this state. These people have all this free time on their hands to come up with most insane policies. Think of it this way though, what nut job will replace him. I am sure it won’t be someone from Cambridge, a state school graduate, or someone white, straight and married to someone of the oppositte sex.
Will the Fluff Advisory level be reduced? It seems appropriate.
Jarrett Barrios is far from a trust fund baby. He is the son of a carpenter who earned a seat at Harvard College and has been here ever since.
His contributions to social and economic justice will be missed.
However, the good people of his district that includes the working class cities of Chelsea, Everett, Saugus and Revere along with parts of Cambridge and Somerville will most likely elect someone who stands for the same principals to replace him in the State Senate.
Social and economic justice? That’s just newspeak for redistribution of wealth and the attachment of new meaning to words like marriage and family.
Barrios is an opportunist, plain and simple. To paint him as anything more than a typical politician/hack who is out for himself is spin. He was labeled by many as a “rising star” in the progressive (i.e. uber-liberal) wing of the MA democrat party. He simply cashed in his chips when he got the chance.
Yeah, we’ll all miss his rants about fluff…….sheesh.
On what basis did the senator seek to ban fluffernutters? And what on earth will he do to Blue Cross?
So I guess that means we should all bow down to him since he went to Harvard. No offense, I have lived in Cambridge my whole life and am a graduate of UMass. I tend to never vote for a Harvard Grad because most I have met tend to be self rightious and refuse to listen to anyone but themselves. Example, I remember young people coming to my door for city council races talking down to my wife and I because they viewed us as insects to them. I didn’t vote for Barrios for this reason and will most likley not vote for who ever is running for his seat. I find it funny that the most socialist people tend to be the ones who went to the most PRIVATE school and paid what 2 families earn to go there. I don’t recall Mother Teresa spending a dime to save the world.
He’ll probably raise health insurance rates for people who eat fluffernutters!
What is BCBS thinking. My company will find another firm.
Good riddance to bad rubbish
I have to deal with Blue Cross provider services every day!!!! I don’t want him there.
Well you know what will happen with this DBag in this position. Yes, higher healthcare costs for the rest of us. These people don’t understand what life is like outside of the land of make believe, I mean college. So lets say their dream comes true and we have a socialized healthcare system. Who will want to be a doctor if they are getting paid civil service wages. Think of how long it will take you to pay off those medical school bills. Even worse look at Mass state government and the Federal government. Every hack this side of Beacon Hill will have their useless kids getting jobs as doctors. I also fear that if the government takes over healthcare one day they will start encouraging people to die as apposed to cover costs. What happens when the state faces fiscal crsisis and can’t afford to pay for these procedures, they will want you to die. I can go on and on about the dangers of universal healthcare. Unfortunatly our state has been hijacked by a Marxists who are bent on ideology. In closing, this is the same guy who tried to ban Fluff. He didn’t take into account that fluff was invented in his district and that the people who make it were his constituents. Why should he care, everyone knows that the proggressives know everything. Why should people make a living off making this death substance.
