Legislature Stalls Vote on Marriage Amendment Vote

Constitutional Convention Recessed to June 14

Boston – VoteOnMarriage.org – the campaign to allow the voters to decide on the definition of marriage in Massachusetts – was disappointed when Senate President Therese Murray recessed the Constitutional Convention without taking a vote on the Marriage Amendment. The Convention is now set to resume on June 14 at 1 PM.

“Senate President Murray gave her word that a vote would be taken on the Marriage Amendment after the state budget deliberations were concluded, and we take her at her word,” said Kris Mineau, president, Massachusetts Family Institute and spokesman, VoteOnMarriage.org.

Hundreds of Marriage Amendment supporters who came to the State House from all over Massachusetts to support the amendment were disappointed that they would again have to come to the State House hoping for a legislative vote.

In the fall of 2005, more than 170,000 signatures were gathered in support of the Marriage Amendment. It took the legislature a full year after the Secretary of State certified the Amendment to take the first of two constitutionally prescribed votes on the measure. If approved at the next Constitutional Convention, the Marriage Amendment goes before the voters in November 2008.

GUTLESS. Murray is a gutless hack.

Democracy, and the ability to petition the government is dying daily in the same state it was born.

How dare you deny me and my partner our civil rights. I think it is great that our elected officials are working on behalf of me and a small minority of people as apposed to the other 90% of people who oppose gay marriage. People like you don’t understand that only rich, trendy good looking people who went to a 60,000 dollar a year college have rights.

Why don’t you leave Massachusetts and go to Kansas (where I moved from to get married and take a job from a Mass native). This is our state now and if you don’t like it we will just price you out of your town. You see people like you don’t have trust-funds like me and my friends in Cambridge. Our parents have plenty of cash they made screwing workers so we can pay any price for a house.

I bet you still remember when being from Boston made you tough, well guess what now it means your a skinny little sissy who rides their bike to work and jogs to stay under 130 lbs. This is the new Massachusetts, its our state and anyone who doesn’t agree with us should go to jail. Democracy is only for gays, illegal aliens, women, non-whites and Harvard, MIT, and Tufts graduates. All hail the might Deval Patrick, he is of no sin; all hail the People’s Republics of Cambridge and Brookline, for they are the masters of the universe; all hail same sex marriage for it is the key to salvation.

Exactly the point… a majority of people OPPOSE gay marriage. in this country, majority rules. Makes sense doesn’t it? Laws have to be passed with a majority vote, politicians get elected by a majority vote. Wow. This is sooooo hard a concept.

    Thanks for proving the point.

W/respect to the “sdogyag” posting, I am going to ASSUME until convinced otherwise, that it was written “tongue-in-cheek”. Please tell me that this is the case.

    Sigh.

Regarding sdogyag, finally somebody puts the picture together correctly. V and RUKidding, are you kidding? This is brilliant sarcasm but overflowing with truth…those opposed to what sdogyag is saying will eventually be hunted down by the thought control police, using the latest technology invented by the Ivy Gods and either reprogrammed or sent to….Maine which will become a penal colony for “THE UNWILLING.”

  7. sdogyag says:

Sarcasm, I wasn’t being sarcastic skipper. I am serious I feel like you locals need to leave, Massachusetts its like a big Gay Disnery word and to be honest you people make it more like Universal Studios. You know what sailor, I feel very very discriminated against, I think the all might sun god Deval Patrick should bring you to the godless alters at Harvard and sacrafice you to the all mighty sciene. As for me I think Gay Marriage isn’t enough, I think that gays and illegal aliens should work hat is work what Americans won’t do and get welfare at the same time kind of work) together and run around naked in the streets in front of your children while Pat Jehlen reads “King and King”.

  8. Mr. X says:

sdogyag, we’re not leaving…the vote in Nov. 2008 will end the judicial imperialism era. Power To The People! All dreams must end, children must grow up, so sorry.

  9. wavemaker says:

Well now who’s going to solve this mystery?

  10. sdogyag says:

I better tell my friends from Harvard and Tufts to hurry up and convince your children that they are gay before they grow up them. Power to the pinkys!!!!!!!!!

  11. RealMassResistance says:

    I think our sarcastic friend is pointing out how the yuppie socialists think and act. For those of you unaware of a yuppie socialist let me explain;

Yuppie Socialists and their close cousin Hipsters are essentially rich suburanites who moved to the city to experience the life and culture they never had. Over the years, real estate developers have been drooling over these people because they have no concept of money since its all from a trust fund. With this is mind, they have taken over former working class enclaves like Southie, Somerville, and parts of Cambridge and by the end of 2010 they will control all of Mass and NH.

They are sad and angry that they are rich and since most of them don’t have jobs or they have made up ones they have plenty of free time to complain and think (while drunk and stonded). As a result they decided to take over inner city and state politics and policies to show how great they are.

Unfortunatly for us, these people don’t have a clue whats going on. They are more concerned with their gay friends right to expose himself in public then they do about rising taxes and illegal aliens taking jobs. In fact since they took a class at BU about illegals they are experts and advocate for freebies and no laws for them. These people worship usless potheads like Jentrification Jehlen, Barak HUSSEIN Obama, Devul Patrick and anyone else who is not a middle class succesful white straight man. They can’t support that since that reminds them of their fathers.

In closing these people are a virus who are taking over mass and pushing out middle and working class people so they can call the shots in their insane land of make believe where everyone is gay, a woman and from another country but here.

    Viva la revolution cupcakes……
