Bring Jessica’s Law To Massachusetts

The campaign to bring tougher sex-offender laws to the Commonwealth began yesterday, reports the Boston Herald.

A Bay State group that advocates for tougher sex-offender laws yesterday kicked off a campaign to push lawmakers to pass stringent anti-child-predator legislation fashioned after Florida’s landmark Jessica’s Law.

“We want mandatory minimums for these crimes,” said Laurie Myers, president of Community Voices. “I just think that the courts aren’t doing their jobs.”

The organization has formed Citizens for Jessica’s Law in Massachusetts in hopes of getting action on a recently filed bill that would create mandatory minimum sentences for crimes such as rape with force and posing a child in a state of nudity.

The tragedy here is that Massachusetts is an ‘Offenders Rights’ state instead of a Victims Rights state. I called Therese Murray after the scumbag who took pictures of a 10 year old getting raped got a paltry sentence and was told in no uncertain terms that the level of sex offense he commited was minor and that they were ‘hoping to pass a bill that defines it a a crime that deserves a harsher sentence’.

As long as libs like ‘Diamond’ Jim Braude and the Rodney Allen Rippey of Massachusetts politics under the golden dome simply ignore the level of recidivism of sex offenders, we can continue to expect them to essentially get a pass in Massachusetts in terms of fair sentencing. No one seems to care about the victims, just the offenders, and thats the true crime in this state. It seems we’re always playing catch up with our legislation and never looking ahead
