Deval Patrick: The Buck Don’t Stop Here

During the gubernatorial race last year, the Patrick-Murray campaign constantly accused the Romney-Healey administration of not accepting responsibility for various things. During the lieutenant governor debate, Tim Murray self-righteously proclaimed, “Harry Truman is one of my favorite elected officials. He said, “The buck stops here.” With the Romney-Healey administration, it stops everywhere but their desk.

Well, apparently, in the Patrick-Murray administration, the buck doesn’t stop with them, it stops everywhere else.

I just don’t get it. Who is advising Patrick? I knew he’d turn out to be all wrong for the job from my conservative prospective, but I did not envison this “crash and burn” scenario. This ICE raid was his chance to shine. He should have had DSS front and center taking care of these kids, basking in the glow of the media spotlight. Instead, his administration fumbles and when a straight mea culpa would have let the problem die a quiet death, we get lies and half truths. He keeps missing opportunities to do himself some good and then taking bad situations and making them worse. Can he really be this stupid?
