Hey, we’ve been saying for quite some time that Deval Patrick is soft on crime. Perhaps Deval Patrick’s supporters won’t listen to us, but maybe they’ll listen to State Rep. Koutoujian (10th Middlesex), who, in a Freudian slip said that Deval Patrick “will not protect victims.”
And if you liked that one, here’s another from State Rep. Ruth Balser (12th Middlesex) saying that Deval Patrick will “not be tough on crime.”
I guess deep down they know that Deval Patrick is a soft-on-crime liberal Democrat, and the truth just slips out when they’re trying to defend him.

Deval Patrick if he should lose soon can use his lawyer skill to defend two US Border Agents who were sentenced to 11 and 12 years in prison for shooting a drug smuggler crossing the Mexican – El Paso TX border.
This was reported by the Washington Times.
It was also said that Judge Kathleen Cardone handed out the sentence dispite the attorneys for the border patrol agents complaint that 3 jurors said they were coerced into voting guilty.
Maybe Deval Patrick should be more open about why he should give drivers licenses to illegals.
Step back for a moment and think about this matter rationally. Do you really believe that Deval Patrick wakes up in the morning thinking about how best to get rapists back on the streets? Do you think his goal is to make MA less safe? He defended a man who had been convicted of rape. Is it a job everyone wants to do? Absolutely not. It is, however, one that is the cornerstone of our criminal justice system. Deval did his job in his capacity as a defense counsel to a convicted criminal. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care about victims, or that he wants cares about defending rapists then preventing crime. It means that he cares about all facets of the criminal justice system and was willing to work in one particularly thankless area of it.
While I am a Deval supporter, I can understand those of a different philosophy disliking him for political reasons. Maybe you don’t like cape wind. Maybe you want the income tax rolled back to 5.0%. But it is just plain irrational to argue that because Deval Patrick has defended criminals in the past he is unfit to be governor. It is also patently insulting to an entire profession which already doesn’t get the credit it deserves for being a vital part of our justice system.
