Anti-”Big Dig Culture” Deval Gets Money From “Big Dig Culture”

In yet another example of hypocrisy, Deval Patrick has entered into what he says he despises: “Big Dig Culture,” and to the tune of over $20,000.
Democrat Deval L. Patrick, who regularly decries what he calls a “Big Dig culture” on Beacon Hill, collected thousands of dollars in campaign money at a fund-raiser this month hosted by O’Neill and Associates, a firm that lobbies for the Big Dig’s project manager.
The breakfast, which raised more than $20,000, took place Oct. 3, hours before Patrick complained at a debate in Springfield about the state’s “inward-looking political establishment” and referred to special interests as “people who get to play, no matter who the governor is.”
“I bring that outsider perspective,” Patrick said at the debate. He has also aired a television ad vowing to clean up the “Big Dig culture” and cited the Big Dig as “an example of what’s wrong with Beacon Hill today.”
Patrick’s effort to portray himself as an outsider came under fire from Healey after he held a closed-door meeting last month with Senate President Robert E. Travaglini and House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi to discuss how they might help his campaign. The Republican Governors Association has also aired a television ad accusing Patrick of playing to “special interests” and questioning whether voters can trust Patrick and “one-party rule behind closed doors.”
As more and more evidence piles up that proves that Deval Patrick is not the same guy with all the catchy soundbites and slogans, will the gap continue to close between him and Kerry Healey? Let’s face it, his attempt to paint Healey as soft on crime is just laughable, and he’s claim to be “outsider” can be easily cast aside, as he continues to rub elbows with the biggest of insiders. How much more evidence do you need to finally realize what a fraud Deval Patrick is?

Tip O’Neil was a great man who’s championed a gateway for Massachusetts to the 21st century. Unfortunatly, the Big Dig turned into a Big Fiasco. It is really that bad that this organization donated money to Deval Patrick’s campaign? It takes money to win elections. Maybe Deval’s team should peek into Healy’s husband. I’m sure there are some skeletons in their closet. But who cares?!?!
Why can’t you post something positive? Try posting something about Healy that is uplifting and future looking! Is there anything that you can post with that info?
