Shame on Harvard: Local Bloggers Protest Khatami Mihos Drops Another Million Into Campaign When He Should Drop Out

Deval Patrick and Chris Gabrieli Pander To Gays

by Matt Margolis, September 13th, 2006 at 08:56am

As the primary draws closer, the Democrat gubernatorial candidates are not only increasing their attacks but they’re also pandering to every group possible. Yesterday, Deval Patrick and Chris Gabrieli, pandering to gay special interests, participated in the Massachusetts Democratic Gubernatorial GLBT Forum at Harvard. Tom Reilly was not present.

During the gay debate, both candidates revealed just how out of the mainstream they are, expressing their desires for Massachusetts to become the Gay Las Vegas by allowing our state to issue marriage licenses to gay couples from out-of-state. Adding insult to injury, neither Patrick or Gabrieli believe that the people of Massachusetts have the right vote on the issue of gay “marriage.” Instead, they want the legislature to tell the people of Massachusetts what their values are. Strange isn’t it that they want the same 87% Democrat-legislature that has gone against the will of the people time and time again to make that call.

Both said that a proposed Massachusetts constitutional ban on gay marriage shouldn’t be put to a referendum.

“I’ve always thought that you don’t put issues of minority rights to a majority vote,” Patrick told The Crimson before the start of the debate.

Gabrieli later echoed his opponent, saying that “I would prefer to see the legislature vote to defeat [the bill].”

This is an absolute outrage. It’s no mistake why these two Democrats claim to trust you to vote for them, but don’t trust you to vote for marriage.

“Gay debate?” I didn’t know debates could be homosexual.

“Instead, they want the legislature to tell the people of Massachusetts what their values are.”

So… what you’re saying is it’s fine if the government tells same sex couples they can’t get married, but the government’s decision to allow women to end their pregnancies shouldn’t be upheld?

You’re right, “This is an absolute outrage.” You have “revealed just how out of the mainstream [you] are.”

Two intelligent guys speaking intelligently about Gay and Lesbian issues, the only outrage is Reilly did not show up, and as for the intelligence or extreme lack of it on this web site. Gay marriage is here to stay, get over it already.

It’s most unfortunate when people like Dave accuse others of lacking intelligence solely for having a different point of view.

“Gay marriage is here to stay, get over it already.” …….yes just like it is so warmly embraced all over the rest of the country. hmmmmmmm …..I think the clock is ticking on progressive influence in society.
    Just my opinion.
