ABC News: Majority Of Americans Want Massachusetts-Style Socialized Health Care

While you can never give too much credence to polls, particularly an MSM poll, it’s always an interesting topic of discussion. Take, for instance, an ABC News/Washington Post poll which asked Americans if they would support similar legislation to that signed by Governor Mitt Romney in their own state. According the poll, 55% of Americans would support such legislation.

I suspect that if people were more informed about the specifics of legislation, the support would go down. I would say that the numbers probably accurately reflect relative support amongst the different groups and locales. Three of the least supportive groups are Republicans, Conservatives, and Evangelical white Protestants, but I suspect the support isn’t that high for these groups as reported.
With so many live examples on how poor socialized health care is, both in England and Canada, how can any straight thinking American want to jeopardize our superior health care system with such a debacle that will cost taxpayers millions, and eventually billions of dollars?
