Pre-Primary Debate Scheduled For Dems

Jon Keller writes that he will be moderating the first Democratic pre-primary debate between Attorney General Tom “Cover Up” Reilly, Deval Patrick and the recently declared candidate Chris Gabrieli.

Yes, it’s true.

The three Democratic candidates for Governor – Chris Gabrieli, Deval Patrick and Tom Reilly – have agreed to their first pre-primary debate, and it’ll be right here on CBS4 News.

The debate will air at 8:30am on Sunday, April 23. Your humble servant will moderate. The format is simple: each candidate gets up to a minute to respond to the same question. (The order rotates so each candidate gets a chance to go first and last.) Once all three have had their say, there will be an open period of rebuttal and cross-talk, during which the candidates can question one another, return to previous topics, pretty much anything they want short of talking over one another. When they’re spent, we’ll move on to the next question.
