The 17-year-old from Wrentham made it to the top 24 on “American Idol” last night, and now it’s up to TV audiences to vote her the next big thing or send her back home to the Hub.
Brown, daughter of WCVB-TV reporter Gail Huff and Lt. Governor wanna-be Sen. Scott Brown (R-Wrentham), bowled over Simon, Paula and Randy in Hollywood considering they weren’t impressed when Brown sang “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” at Boston’s convention center a few months ago.
“Not blown away,” Randy said.
“Robotic,” said Simon.
But last night, Simon congratulated the Noble and Greenough senior for her efforts.
“Well done, kiddo,” he said.
Boston College-bound Brown (the hoop star will attend the school on a full basketball scholarship next fall) is in Hollywood for the duration, and while she’s missing school and basketball (her team won their game yesterday), Brown is catching up on schoolwork through independent study and will still graduate with her class in the spring, no matter what the outcome, sources said.
Aaron Margolis is a life long resident of the Bay State, and works at an architectural firm north of Boston. Aaron has a Master of Architecture Degree from Boston Architectural College and is currently in the process of becoming of a Registered Architect.
