Special Elections Today

Three vacancies on Beacon Hill are being decided upon today by special election for the following districts:

2nd Worcester Representative District
Democrat Robert Rice and Republican Jonathan Dennehy are going after the seat formerly held by Brian Knuuttila who resigned to serve as general counsel for the Worcester County Jail.

1st Bristol Representative District
In the race to succeed the late Representative Michael Coppola of Foxborough are his wife, Virgina “Ginny” Coppola, running as the Republican candidate, and Democrat Claire Naughton.

27th Middlesex Representative District
Democrat Denise Provost of Somerville is running opposed for the seat left vacant when Rep. Patricia Jehlen was elected to the state Senate.
