Senator Orrin Hatch: Don’t Discount A Romney Candidacy in 2008

by Matt Margolis, January 12th, 2006 at 11:24am

Senator Orrin Hatch, talking with bloggers during a blogger event hosted by the Senate Republican Conference, had some interested things to say in response to a question about Mitt Romney’s chances in 2008.

Senator Hatch said that of all the potential presidential nominees on both sides of the aisle, that Mitt Romney is the manager and administrator. As for anti-Mormon prejudice, Hatch, a Mormon himself, said that things have changes in recent years and Romney has a real chance of breaking through that prejudice. Hatch said not to discount a Romney candidacy, and, given the chance, Romney could be a tremendous president.
