Botox Kerry Says Democratic Party Doesn’t Need A Makeover
Leave it to John Kerry to be the one who says that the Democratic Party doesn’t need a makeover:
After blistering Republicans on everything from Iraq to health care, Kerry said Democrats have an opportunity to rebuild nationally by simply addressing the concerns that affect people’s daily lives — energy, transportation, health care and security.
“We have to go out and fight for the real issues that make a difference in the lives of the American people and we don’t need some great lurch to the right or lurch to the left or redefinition of the Democratic Party,” the Massachusetts Democrat said. “The last thing America needs is a second Republican Party.”
What John Kerry seems to be missing here is that the Democrats have already been trying to give themselves a makeover. In the aftermath of the last election, the Democrats immediate attention was focused on rediscovering moral values. Since then they’ve been trying to portray themselves as against abortion, despite the fact they support abortion. They’ve tried to redefine themselves as pro-military, strong on defense and border security… just to name a few… they are in fact trying to become Republican-lite.
