Kerry’s Senate Career Makeover
by Matt Margolis, July 16th, 2005 at 09:29am

One of John Kerry’s many weaknesses in the 2004 Presidential Election was his rather undistinguished Senate career. Unable to boast about any accomplishments in the Senate—except of course his voting for the $87 billion for the troops before he voted against it—he relied solely upon his three months service in Vietnam… a war he has called a mistake.
Well, Kerry knows he can’t run on Vietnam when he tries makes his next futile attempt at the presidency in 2008. So, Kerry has been diligently trying to redefine his Senate career.
His campaign website now operates as a grassroots website, promoting initiatives with genteelly sounding names or that are politically safe. Such initiatives include the “Kids First Act,” “Count Every Vote,” and most ironic for Kerry “Support Our Troops.”
Kerry, Ranking Member of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has also just introduced legislation which will purportedly “make it easier for small businesses to comply with federal regulations.” The press release declares Kerry’s bill will “help small businesses cut through the red tape.”
John Kerry could care less about helping small businesses cut through the red tape. These bills and initiatives are merely red herrings, designed to allow him to run for the presidency in 2008 on his previous four years in the Senate, not his entire record of over twenty years.

‘has also just introduced legislation which will purportedly “make it easier for small businesses to comply with federal regulations.”‘
is this like a parody? Legislation to make it easier to comply with regulations? Maybe …get rid of the regulations?
